In her Triple Double class, you'll create three (yes THREE!) double page layouts that are clean, classic and full of color! Let Rachel show you how a little bit of hand stitching and a whole lot of traditional scrapbooking product can turn something simple into something spectacular. This class is all about showing you how easy it is to build an album that could have any number of uses - canvas fabric, patterned paper and gorgeous embellishments make it oh sew easy!

When you look at a typical Nic Howard layout what is it that you see? Layering of coordinating papers, distressing, clustering, clever embellishing and details that all come together to create a layout full of dimension. Nic's goal is to create all this while still allowing the story and photos to shine. Join Nic as she creates a double page layout (or two singles) while taking you through the techniques she is most often asked about. Those of you that have been asking... here is the class teaching you all you ever wanted to know to complete "Pages like that!"

Introducing...

Introducing the third tutor for Autumn Escape 2010, Kelly Goree!
Kelly is an experienced teacher and we look forward to releasing her class descriptions, along with those from Nic & Rachel, in September this year.

Kelly Goree lives in the beautiful horse country of Kentucky with her husband of 11 years and her three rambunctious little boys. She was introduced to scrapbooking in early 2000 just after her oldest son was born and it quickly became a favorite hobby then all-out passion. She'll tell you if she's not out chasing her boys, you can find her scrapping!

Kelly is a full-time staff designer and instructor for BasicGrey where she is a driving force in designing work for classes, tradeshows, catalogs, and special events. In 2006 she had the honor of being a Memory Makers Master and has over 300 published works that can been seen in the pages of Memory Makers, Creating Keepsakes, Better Homes & Garden's Scrapbooks Etc., Scrapbook Trends, Paper Trends, Scrapbooking & Beyond and other scrapping and paper arts publications.

Update!

It's come to our attention here at the Autumn Escape that there is rumour that registration is not open to everyone - and that it's just open to this year's participants - not so!!

Registration is open to everyone...come one, come all... join the dozens of lovely ladies from all over NZ and even Australia!! Email Lucy for the forms.

As of a week ago we were nearly at sell-out point... since then we have secured another 20-odd spaces... so there is room for a few more before it sells out. I wouldn't muck around though. Lucy hasn't surfaced for days, she must be stuck under a pile of paperwork! And remember if she doesn't answer your registration or email within a day or so, please re-send!

Still working on that 3rd tutor....

Nic

Autumn Escape 2010 registration open!!

When is Autumn Escape next year?
Autumn Escape will be held on the weekend of April 16th, 17th and 18th next year- it's the last week of school holidays, it's a perfect way to end a few weeks with the kids!
We are thrilled to say that it will be a LONGER event next year! Autumn Escape registration will now open mid-morning on Friday the 16th and the crop room will be open all day!

Will there be classes on offer?
Classes will be spread out over the Friday and the Saturday with not two, but three tutors to chose from.

Who are the tutors?
We can't give you all the details just yet, but we can tell you that we have Nic Howard back on board teaching for 2010, and we are adding Rachel Tucker to the team! Rachel is an experienced teacher, and she comes with glowing references, we know you'll love the classes she will offer. There will be a third tutor but this is still being finalised, we have to keep some things a surprise for a while!

When will classes descriptions be released?
At the present time we are only opening registration for the event. We are not opening registration for classes. Because the event is still 11 months away and products and trends within the hobby can change so much in that time, we have chosen not to release class descriptions just yet. We can tell you that we are hoping for around six different classes to choose from and they will run at approximately the same price as this year. Those that register for the Autumn Escape will be notified when class registration opens!

So how do I register?
Email Lucy at the address at the top of the right sidebar. Fill out the registration form and send it back to us! We usually answer emails within 24-48 hours so if you don't hear an answer to any of your emails, please be sure to try again.
Your place at the event can be confirmed with the registration form and a deposit of $50. We have decided to keep the event to the same maximums we had this year, so places are limited.

Do you have a payment plan?
Yes! There are derails of cost and a structured payment plan outlined on the registration form, but if you wish to pay little bits off more often, you can! If you wish to start putting little bits away for the classes, you can! We have 11 months until the event, so there is plenty of time and an update of your balance can be obtained by emailing Lucy at any time.

So that's it! We are opening the gates for registration!!
We hope to see you there!
Nic & Lucy

What a weekend...

I really don't know if I can fit all that happened at the 2009 Autumn Escape into one post. I do know that the time flew like it never has before. One minute Lucy, Lynda and I were travelling down to Taupo, marvelling at the gorgeous colours of the trees - really, we don't get them as gorgeous up here in Auckland, and the next thing I knew we were driving home again, chatting all the way about the very cool weekend we'd had and the amazing group of ladies we'd met. Here is a group of photos from Kim Archer...

And lookie here - a wonderful video. I needed tissues to look at this but perhaps because it's the first time I've seen all our hard work pulled together in just over 3 minutes... lol...

Kim's Video.

Pssssst - there are rumours out there that a 2010 date has been penciled in with the venue, that the Autumn Escape 2010 will include a FULL day on the Friday and that there will be more optional classes spread over 2 days! Yep - we listened to all those feedback forms! We are just working with the resort now to get it all confirmed, it's taking a while because there are a few extra costs with the conference centre for the extra day and we are working on the package - watch this space for details of registration opening very soon!
